Bee’s Cakes
Today I visited Bee’s Cakes in the Roseway neighborhood, at the intersection of NE Sandy, Fremont and 72nd, for their cinnamon roll! I’ve been so excited to try this place and when I came in this morning they couldn’t have been nicer to me. Bee met me at the door and was so warm and welcoming, even gave me an extra cinnamon roll (a small one they couldn’t sell) for free to take home to my wife! This cinnamon roll looks insanely good! TONS of frosting, with little bits of vanilla bean, dripping and drooping all over this ultra-moist roll. This was probably the most-moist cinnamon roll I’ve had so far. The frosting reminded me of the frosting I would make growing up, powdered sugar and butter. The only problem was there was waaayyyy too much of it, and the frosting overpowered everything else. It reminded me of my winter comforter, which is huge and thick and heavy and absolutely keeps me from being able to get out of bed in the morning; this cinnamon roll couldn’t climb out from under the weight of it.
**UPDATE! Bee wrote to me and let me know that they put extra-frosting on this roll for me! Normally the frosting would be toned down. Highly recommend trying this one!
Favorite part: The bread was so moist you could almost drink it.
Least favorite part: The frosting was so heavy and sweet I started to avoid it.
