Sweetpea Baking Co.

Today I visited Sweetpea on SE 12th and Stark for their cinnamon roll! Sweetpea is a vegan bakery and café and I’ve always liked their sweets. I walked in this morning and couldn’t believe my eyes- this cinnamon roll is HHUUUGE. Definitely the biggest one I’ve tried yet, and could easily feed a family of four. I dug in and already thought this one would be too bready for me (and it is) but the bread is quite good. It has a good bounce to it and the center of the roll is yummy and gooey galore! The royal icing they use is too sweet, but it does mix well with the excellent spicy cinnamonnyness (new word)! After eating about half of it I felt like I had eaten a loaf of bread and had to lay down. Overall a solid choice to share with someone(s) on a cozy morning.

Favorite part: Carmelized cinnamon sugar on the bottom was delish!

Least favorite part: The icing was too sweet for me.
