Basics Market

Today I visited Basics Market on SW Capitol Hwy in Hillsdale for their cinnamon roll! They have these stacked in a pyramid near the produce and they looked really good! I sorted through (many) to find the best looking one that had a nice spiral on top :) They tasted pretty good as well! They didn’t exactly knock my socks off, but these are definitely a solid choice (when Baker & Spice next door is closed). The frosting is …fine, fairly sweet basic sugar frosting, and the bread is a serviceable brioche, a little cake-like, but good! Basic’s did get a good amount of that cinnamon streusel on the inside, which always makes me happy, but it didn’t really bring this one over-the-top for me. I would say this one was …pretty good…

Favorite part: Great cinnamon flavor

Least favorite part: Frosting is a bit two sweet.
