Lolo Pass

Today I visited Lolo Pass on E Burnside and 16th for their cinnamon roll! This hotel plopped down into my neighborhood over Covid and their big open lobby was completely empty when I entered this morning. I called and they told me that they make all of their own pastries (I cant believe I’m still finding new places with cinnamon rolls!). I brought this guy home and dug in. The cream cheese frosting on this one is very cream-cheesy, tangy and unsweetened. The bread is dense and a little gluey.. a lot like a bagel. Actually, that’s exactly what this tasted like; a bagel with cream cheese! Well, like a dessert bagel. The cinnamon goo in the middle was SO sugary that it created a caramel, and made it taste like cinnamon sugar bagel, with cream cheese. And that’s fine! Some people like dessert bagels, but it didn’t have the great taste and decadence of a real cinnamon roll..

Favorite part: Warmed up- the center is nice and gooey…

Least favorite part: Bagel bread with unsweetened cream cheese
