Grand Central Bakery

Today I visited Grand Central’s Beaumont location on NE 45th and Fremont for their "rustic cinnamon roll”! This roll is another frosting-free roll, made with a whole-grain bread and currants. I really liked this roll, and I can see it being a good morning option- almost like an “AM Bun” or “Morning Roll”, but it really reminded me of a cinnamon raisin bagel, with a sweeter / caramelized outside. It was nice that it wasn’t too sweet, however, this didn’t really give me the cinnamon-roll fix I’m, apparently, constantly now craving! This yummy bagel roll was drier than I preferred and the center was a tad disappointing, but that caramelized outer glaze and cinnamon flavor were pretty darn good!

Favorite part: The outer caramelized glaze was the standout.

Least favorite part: Too dry and bagel-like for my sophisticated tastes!
