Hungry Heart Bakery

Today I visited Hungry Heart Bakery on SE 80th and Stark in Montavilla for their cinnamon roll! I walked in when they opened at 8 and a minute later they brought out their first batch of rolls; frosting dripping down the sides, the smell hit me and I was drooling! These are truly beautiful cinnamon rolls. I dug in and the frosting was very good, cream cheese based, very tasty but quite sweet. The brioche was excellent and the caramelized outside almost had a hint of banana? The only drawback was: even though they had cinnamon sprinkled across the top- I couldn’t taste cinnamon in this roll. The spicy-sugary streusel was almost non-existent, and overall slightly dry. Otherwise, absolutely killer cinnamon roll!

Favorite part: The frosting mixed with the caramelized outside was divine!

Least favorite part: Could have been perfect with more cinnamon flavor
