Miss Zumstein Bakery and Café

Today I visited Miss Zumstein’s on NE 42nd near Alberta for their cinnamon roll! They only make cinnamon rolls on Saturdays (and they go quickly) so I made sure to be ready this week to zip over and pick this one up, and oooOOOOOO! It’s so good. The frosting has orange in it and that’s the first thing you notice; the orange flavor jumps out front and is a delightful surprise. The bread is really very good, expertly baked, with hard caramelized cinnamon sugar on the bottom. The mixture of the orange and cinnamon is crazy good. I would say that overall this is a bit too sweet for me, but I would get this one again in a heartbeat. I’d recommend any of the pastries at her café. When I (reluctantly) gave my wife a bite, she said, “Wow! Miss Zumstein never disappoints”.

Favorite part: Orange in the frosting, mixed with the excellent bread and cinnamon!

Least favorite part: Overall a bit too sweet.
