Mother’s Bistro & Bar

Today I visited Mother’s on SW 3rd and Ash for their cinnamon roll! Mother’s had a “pecan cinnamon roll” on their specials menu this morning, but they assured me that they have these rolls all the time. Which is great, because they’re freakin’ good! This one looks like a loaf of bread with frosting on top, and I was worried it would be too bready and heavy- but the brioche on this beast is light, airy and deeelish. My French wife claimed this one of her top 5 rolls in town, for it’s “very French tasting” brioche, which must have had “very expensive butter” lol! The pecans that dot the inside add a nice bite and the bread has a super good aftertaste. The frosting is light, not too sweet, with a cream cheese twang that’s a nice compliment to the brioche. My only desire would have been for more cinnamon flavor, and gooeyness, though the center did melt in my mouth! This one left me balled up on the floor saying mama

Favorite part: Melt-in-your-mouth brioche
