Pine State Biscuits
Today I visited Pine State on NE Alberta and 22nd for their bourbon caramel cinnamon roll! I picked this baby up and my car was smelling so good, opened up the box when I got home and thought; oh lord, I’m gonna hate this. I’m not a huge fan of that “bourbon caramel” flavor and thought this would be like the sugar atom-bomb. After the first (delicious) bite it reminded me of how I feel about most of Pine State’s offerings: totally yummy but way too much, and I should start planning for my coma. This roll was best in small bites, and I found myself eating little bits of it over the last two days. It’s actually quite good, the caramel flavor is very well done, and the bread was like a rustic wheat or whatever that went well with the bearded woodsman vibes of the caramel. Not sure I would pick this one up again when I have a cinnamon roll craving, but maybe if I was really stoned!
Favorite part: The sticky caramel kept me comin’ back for more!
Least favorite part: Too heavy and intense for my tastes
