Bastion Coffee Roasters

Today I visited Bastion Coffee Roasters on N Mississippi and Skidmore for their cinnamon sugar bun! This qualifies in my mind as a cinnamon roll, but the frosting here has been replaced by cinnamon sugar. It was very good, but I think a lot of my appreciation comes from nostalgia; I grew up eating cinnamon sugar on toast - and that’s what this is. Buttery, sugary, and a little hard to place the cinnamon, it was a little too sweet for me (lol, it’s covered in sugar). The bread was quite good, and the center very moist, and I will absolutely order this again, though I don’t really get a cinnamon roll fix from this. The guys who run this shop were incredibly nice this morning and I will be coming back!

UPDATE** I found out later that Bastion doesn’t make these pastries, but they’re supplied by Jen’s Pastries (see my review of their cinnamon roll, coming soon!)

Favorite part: The bread was buttery, moist and yummy!

Least favorite part: Couldn’t finish in one sitting, was a bit too sweet.
