Screen Door

Today I visited Screen Door Eastside on E Burnside and 24th for their cinnamon roll! I noticed they offer cinnamon rolls (plural, you get two) as an appetizer on their brunch menu, and brought an order home this morning. They have the frosting on the side and it was nice to frost my own bun, lol! I licked my knife and was surprised by the excellent flavor of this frosting! They say “cream cheese frosting” on their menu, but it looked like the super-sweet royal icing I’ve seen many times now, but the taste was quite different. I couldn’t exactly taste cream cheese, and it wasn’t too sweet, but more comlpex and absolutely delicious! In addition, the brioche was top notch and as good as some of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve tried so far. The only drawback was that the cinnamon flavor wasn’t very present… it was there, but I could have used more of it. I couldn’t get enough of that brioche with amazing frosting! I highly recommend grabbing this appetizer for takeout, one of the best in town.

Favorite part: The brioche was excellent.

Least favorite part: Would have liked a bit more cinnamon.
