Stepping Stone Café

Today I visited the Stepping Stone Café on NW 24th and Quimby for their cinnamon roll! I haven’t been to this breakfast spot in NW in decades, and I quickly learned today that it was a big mistake! Stepping Stone makes their own cinnamon roll and, holy crap…. it’s good. The first thing you notice is the milky melted frosting coating the entire roll. I worried this would be too sweet, but it’s actually glorious and mixes wonderfully with the rest of the roll. The dough is not a brioche, but a more standard dough, that was very moist. The cinnamon was everywhere!! After digging in- you see the dark cinnamon coating every wall of this roll, and the frosting had a great flavor and wasn’t too sweet. This ranks up there with the very best cinnamon rolls in town!!

Favorite part: Tons of cinnamon flavor mixed with that icing!!!

Least favorite part: The dough was great, but not the very very best I’ve had
